1. Overview
StoreUptime provides website, WordPress and WooCommerce monitoring, service-status information and alert delivery. This notice explains how personal information is handled when you browse StoreUptime, start a checkout, connect or configure a website, receive alerts, or contact support.
StoreUptime is the controller for personal information it processes for its own website, customer administration, security and service operation. Data-protection questions, rights requests and complaints can be sent to support@storeuptime.com or through the Contact page.
2. Information we process
Depending on the features you use, we may process:
- account and subscription information such as name, email address, website/domain, plan and service identifiers;
- monitoring configuration such as public URLs, selected WordPress pages, check intervals, required text or Element IDs, and alert destinations you choose to configure;
- monitoring results such as availability, HTTP status, response time, compact WordPress or WooCommerce health results, confirmed incident state and recovery history;
- support or contact messages and information you choose to include in them;
- technical and security information generated by hosting, CDN, network or security systems, which can include IP address, timestamps, request path, user agent and security events;
- order, subscription and transaction metadata supplied by Freemius. StoreUptime does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
Information can come directly from you, from a website you connect or configure, from Freemius in relation to checkout and subscriptions, and from infrastructure providers that generate service or security logs.
3. Why we use personal information
We process personal information only where a lawful basis applies. The main bases are:
- Contract: to provide requested monitoring, administer a customer relationship or subscription, deliver configured alerts and respond to service requests.
- Legitimate interests: to secure the service, prevent fraud and abuse, diagnose faults, maintain reliability, operate support, improve the service and defend legal claims where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation: where records or disclosures are required by applicable law, regulation, court order or another binding legal requirement.
- Consent: where a feature genuinely relies on consent. Consent can be withdrawn without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
We do not sell personal information and do not use StoreUptime monitoring data for third-party behavioural advertising. Monitoring results are not used to make solely automated decisions about individuals that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Monitoring data
External checks record compact operational results for the public addresses you configure, including availability, HTTP status and response time. WordPress and WooCommerce checks can add compact application-health signals needed to show whether the configured function passed or failed.
Required-content checks store the text or Element ID rule you configure and a compact result. Signed-in/member-page checks use a locally selected Monitoring test user to verify protected access and optional content; Plus and Advanced can run included protected pages automatically on schedule, and real signed-in visits can additionally provide observations. The selected user ID stays local. StoreUptime does not require or receive the account password, persistent login cookie, private page HTML, screenshot or WordPress identity for the check.
Selected-page monitoring uses WordPress-side information about the configured records, publication state and permalink. It is not a stored copy of private page content.
5. Service providers and international transfers
StoreUptime uses specialist providers for hosting, network and security delivery, cloud monitoring infrastructure, transactional email, service-status monitoring, checkout, subscription administration and payment processing. Current infrastructure includes Hostinger, Cloudflare and Amazon Web Services, while Freemius provides the paid checkout as Merchant of Record.
Freemius handles the checkout transaction, applicable tax processing, invoices and subscription-payment administration. StoreUptime remains responsible for the monitoring service and for personal information it processes as controller.
Providers may process information in the United Kingdom, EEA, United States or other locations. Where UK restricted-transfer rules apply, an applicable adequacy regulation, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum or another lawful transfer mechanism is used for the relevant provider.
6. Cookies and similar storage
The StoreUptime public marketing and status pages do not intentionally use advertising or behavioural-analytics cookies. Strictly necessary WordPress, security, account or checkout storage may be used when required to provide a feature you request.
If you open checkout, Freemius and its payment providers may use storage needed for payment, fraud prevention, tax, subscription and checkout compliance. If StoreUptime introduces non-essential analytics, advertising or similar technologies in future, this notice will be updated and consent will be obtained where required before they are used.
7. Retention
Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for service operation, security, accounting, dispute handling and legal obligations.
- Paid incident history follows the active plan: Basic and Plus retain 30 days; Advanced retains 90 days.
- Monitoring configuration and customer/subscription data are retained while needed to provide or administer the service and may be removed when the relevant monitoring connection or service relationship ends.
- Support, transaction, accounting, fraud-prevention and security records may be retained longer where reasonably required for legal, accounting, security or dispute purposes.
8. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, receive portable data, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests where the law gives you that right. You also have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. If consent is used for a feature, you can withdraw it at any time.
9. Data-protection complaints
You can make a data-protection complaint by emailing support@storeuptime.com with the subject “Data protection complaint”, with that subject line.
We will acknowledge a data-protection complaint within 30 days, investigate it appropriately, keep you informed where appropriate and provide an outcome without unjustifiable or excessive delay. We may ask for information reasonably needed to identify the relevant records or verify identity before disclosing personal information.
If you remain dissatisfied, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. You can also seek to enforce your rights through the courts where applicable.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration and misuse. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so credentials, payment-card details, passwords, login cookies or other secrets should never be sent by email.
11. Contact and identity
Privacy questions, rights requests and data-protection complaints can be sent to support@storeuptime.com or through the Contact page.
